Jambalaya Sports & Entertainment, LLC. (JSE) is an organization committed to developing sports leagues and social events throughout the greater Nashville area for Youth & Adults. We host leagues year-round and special events every quarter. The purpose of our organization is to assist with the “dead-beat mentality” that getting a good workout has to be inside of a box….literally….at gyms, etc.  Well, we think OUTSIDE just for you!  Not only do we help you continue to be active, but relationships are naturally built, which helps our members make the most of our city’s vast resources and social opportunities.

Now introducing PLAYGROUND SPORTS – Kickball, Dodgeball, 4-square, etc; whether young or not so young, we’re dedicated to keep one active cause that’s what we’re all about!

Managed by JSE, the Midnight Basketball League/Program, Inc. (MBLP, Inc.), Nashville Chapter is an educational, crime prevention program that focuses predominately on high-risk youth and young adult males 16-24.  Although sports as a whole are used to amass a target audience, contingencies are applied as the participants must attend a series of educational awareness sessions before “hitting the hardwood”; i.e. Health & Wellness, Leadership Empowerment, High School Diploma/GED and Employment preparation.  Academically, our focus will be centered on Economic Development.  The areas of basic finances are not as strong, particularly with our targeted group.  Modeled after the Midnight Basketball League Program in the Western Regions, it provides recreational activity as a link to connect to outreach youth and young adults.  The pilot program was/is extremely successful, which began in March, 1986.

MBLP, Inc. hosts three events throughout the year to assist in its fundraising efforts to keep the program growing; “Who’s Got Next?”, “The BasketBall”, and the “1-2-3 Roundball Tourney”

“Who’s Got Next?’ – Annual Youth & Adult Men & Women’s Basketball Classic held every year in June (the weekend AFTER Fathers Day).  In a very short amount of time, we’re compared to other quality, long-running tournaments as we feature several great athletes from state to state!  We include current and former professionals of the NBA, ABA, CBA, Streetball and more; including Corey Brewer (Minnesota Timberwolves), Kenneth Faried (Denver Nuggets), Thaddeus Young (Phili 76ers), Brandan Wright (Dallas Mavs), Lester Hudson (Utah Jazz), Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, Trenton Hassell, Dale Davis, Dontae Jones, John Wallace, Cedric Henderson, (former NBA standouts), JP Prince, Melvin Goins, and Cameron Tatum (former UT Vols), and many more have supported our program in the past and continue to come every year.  As you can see, it’s highly competitive, yet a family friendly environment!

“1-2-3 Roundball Tourney” – The concept is based on other 3 on 3 basketball tournaments world-wide, but with an added special twist!  It is open to the public for boys, girls, men and women separated by divisions and age groups to keep it fair and competitive.  The carnival atmosphere will feature a slam-dunk contest, 3-point contest, live entertainment, food vendors, moon-bounces, and post-games concert.

“The BasketBall; “Hope beyond Hoops” – “After-5 affair” that honors MBLP’s participants in achieving their goals.  It includes an evening of excitement with live music, live/silent auction, dinner and dancing, all to benefit a phenomenal cause!  This event is held annually in October.
